What standards do our pages follow?
- Answer first. Each page opens with the direct answer, then the detail.
- Only what we can support. A fact appears only if an official source backs it for the tax year. Where dates shift, we say "usually".
- No invented figures. Where an amount changes each year, the page describes the rule and TaxOrch reads the figure for the year you ask about.
- Plain language. No jargon without an explanation, and no claims we cannot stand behind.
- Clear limits. Pages say what TaxOrch does not do: it does not file returns or make payments, and it provides decision support, not professional tax advice.
Which sources do we use?
Primary authorities come first: the IRS, HMRC, the Canada Revenue Agency, the Australian Taxation Office, India's Income Tax Department, the German and French tax administrations, the UAE Federal Tax Authority, IRAS in Singapore and Bangladesh's National Board of Revenue. Every tax-information page lists its sources, authority first, so you can check the original.
How are pages reviewed?
- 1DraftA page is drafted from official sources for the tax year it covers.
- 2CheckEach factual statement is checked against its cited source, and anything that cannot be supported is removed or reworded.
- 3DateThe page records the date its facts were last checked, shown as "Last reviewed".
- 4RevisitPages are rechecked when the law or an authority's guidance changes, and when a new tax year begins.
How do we keep pages up to date?
Every tax-information page shows a last-reviewed date. Inside the product, each registered source carries an update cadence and stale sources block a release, as described in how we measure accuracy.
How do I report an error?
Email hello@taxorch.com with the subject "Correction", the page address and what you believe is wrong, ideally with the official source. We check the report against the source, fix the page if it is wrong, and update its last-reviewed date.
