How are clients and roles organised?
Each client has its own workspace: documents, conversations, cases and notices stay together and separate from every other client. Your team works under roles, so a preparer can draft, a reviewer can approve, and a client can upload documents and see what you share with them.
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Preparer | Collects documents, runs calculations and drafts workpapers and memos |
| Reviewer | Checks the working, raises issues and signs off |
| Client | Uploads documents, answers questions and sees approved outputs |
| Administrator | Manages the team, clients and settings |
How does the review workflow work?
- 1Open a caseStart a case for a return, a question or a project, with workpaper folders set up for it.
- 2PrepareDocuments are read into typed fields, figures come from calculators and research is cited to official sources.
- 3Track issuesOpen points and missing facts are logged as issues against the case until resolved.
- 4ReviewA reviewer checks each figure's working and each citation, then signs off or sends it back.
- 5CloseThe case ends in an immutable final pack, marked as not filed, ready for the client or for filing through authorised software.
Can it draft position memos?
Yes. Position memos are drafted with the relevant sections cited, statute ranked above guidance, and any conflict between sources shown rather than resolved silently. Where the evidence is not strong enough, the memo says so and marks the point for the reviewer. You can also estimate what a decision costs before it is made by running planning scenarios inside the case. When the law changes, TaxOrch traces the change to the clients it affects, and earlier answers can be re-run against the new rules so you can see which positions need another look.
What does the audit trail record?
Every answer, classification, edit, comment and approval is recorded with what it was based on. Answers are recorded with their sources, so they can be replayed months later. TaxOrch also produces monthly cryptographic audit proofs with SHA-256 verification, so you can show the record has not been altered.
Client data is never used to improve the product without your explicit opt-in. Firms that need data on their own infrastructure can choose a private deployment. Read more on security.
Which firms is it built for?
Accountants and tax firms managing many clients, and enterprises with in-house tax teams. The workspace is part of every White-label licence. TaxOrch provides decision support, not professional tax advice; professional judgement stays with your reviewers. Book a demo to see it on a real engagement.

Can we show how an answer was reached months later?

Which plan includes the client workspace?
- It is built for firms with clients, and included in the White-label licence.
