Reverse charge
A rule shifting responsibility for accounting for VAT from the seller to the buyer.
Tax term
It applies to cross-border business-to-business supplies, including intra-EU sales where the customer holds a valid VAT number in a different member state. Getting it wrong is wrong in both directions: charging when you should not, or not charging when you should.
