Tax calculation engine
Progressive bracket maths for income, VAT, payroll, capital gains, corporate and withholding tax — computed in code against a versioned dataset, never generated by a model.

What it does
Deterministic by construction
Bracket lookup from a versioned JSON dataset, arithmetic in Decimal, and a locked figure the composer may only restate.
Every number comes from a deterministic calculator, never from a language model.
Answers with the right year's law
Point-in-time resolution gates both retrieval and the bracket resolver, so a question about a past year gets that year's rates.
A 2023 question is answered with 2023 law.
Sub-national where the data exists
States, provinces, cantons and territories are modelled where a parameter pack actually carries them — and reported as unmodelled where it does not.
Onboarding a country means publishing assets, not editing code — and a country can only claim what its assets support.
Every figure arrives with its bracket breakdown.
A total on its own is a number to be trusted. A total with the bands, the rates and the amount taxed in each is a number that can be checked — by you, by a reviewer, or by an inspector two years from now.
Answers are pinned to a corpus release, model version, and calculator version, so any answer can be reproduced later.
- Each band shows the income falling in it, the rate and the tax
- The allowance and its taper are shown, not folded into a total
- Every answer is pinned to a calculator version and a corpus release

The limits are on the page, not in a footnote.
A calculator that quietly approximates is worse than no calculator. Each engine publishes what it models and what it does not, and the assistant abstains rather than guessing outside that.
