# TaxOrch brand kit

Everything here may be used to write about TaxOrch. It may not be used to imply
that TaxOrch endorses, partners with, or is affiliated with anybody.

## What is in here

- `svg/` — the monogram, three variants, as scalable files with no
dependency on our stylesheet. Each contains the brand's own artwork rather
than a redrawing of it: the original is a raster file, and an SVG that traced
it would be sharper at large sizes and would not be the logo.
- `png/` — the monogram at 256, 512, 1024 pixels, and the full
lockup at 1024 and 2048 pixels wide, in each variant.
- `docs/palette.json` — the colours, read from the running site at the moment
this kit was built rather than transcribed.

## Which variant

- **dark** — on black or a dark ground. This is the primary form.
- **light** — on white or a light ground.

The mark carries its own outlines and its own white counter, so the same
artwork is correct on both. The two names exist because the exports sit on
different grounds, not because the logo changes.

- **mono** — one colour, for a single-colour context such as newsprint. It is a
**silhouette**: rendering the mark in one ink fills the counter behind the
percent along with everything else, so the percent is not visible. Use it only
where one ink is a hard constraint, and use the dark or light variant
  everywhere else.

## Clear space and minimum size

Leave clear space around the mark equal to the height of its gear — roughly a
fifth of the mark's height. Do not place it closer than that to text, an edge,
or another logo.

Minimum size is 24 pixels for the monogram on screen and 8 millimetres in
print. Below that the percent counter at the centre closes up and the mark
reads as a blob.

## What is not permitted

- Do not recolour the mark. Use the variant that suits the ground.
- Do not stretch, skew, rotate or add effects — no shadows, no gradients, no
  outlines.
- Do not place the mark on a busy image, or on a ground that leaves the counter
  without contrast.
- Do not rebuild the lockup. Use the exported one; the spacing is part of it.
- Do not use the mark as part of your own logo, product name, or in a way that
suggests a relationship that does not exist.
- Do not modify the wordmark's letterforms or set the name in another face.

## Licence

These assets are provided for editorial and journalistic use: writing about
TaxOrch, illustrating an article, or referring to the company in a directory or
index. That use needs no permission and no attribution beyond identifying the
company correctly.

Any other use — marketing material, product packaging, merchandise, or anything
implying endorsement or partnership — needs written permission first.

The trade marks remain ours. This licence covers use of these files, not the
rights in them.

## What is not here

There is no EPS, and there is no vector original.

The logo was drawn as a raster image, so everything here — the PNGs, and the
artwork inside the SVG files — comes from that. It is sharp at every size this
kit ships and it will not stay sharp if enlarged past 1024 pixels. For a
billboard, a vehicle wrap, or anything else needing true vector output, ask:
the mark would be redrawn as paths properly, by somebody, rather than traced
automatically and sent to a printer by nobody.
